Opener: Rebecca Jasso
Chicago native Rebecca Jasso is a singer/songwriter who playfully writes around the themes of love, loneliness, and fantasy, skillfully weaving her melodies into the harmonic fabric of her fingerstyle guitar playing.
Music has had a strong hold over Rebecca since childhood. At age 10, she took up the guitar, and since the very beginning, sought to write good songs. Despite learning at this young age, it wasn't till after college that she worked up the confidence to take her music to the stage. For years she oscillated between playing solo and in bands, with each wave bringing her closer to chiseling out a style that would be her very own.
A visual artist, Rebecca conjures images with her lyrics to insert you into pictures from her own imagination. From soft, autumnal landscapes, to dark, Narnian scenes, each song is a journey into a new story. Her honest voice and beautiful songs will absolutely charm you.
Headliner: Jenny and Robin Bienemann
Jenny and Robin Bienemann are a Chicago-based husband and wife duo. By turns hilarious and heartfelt, this cutting-edge acoustic duo mixes original and traditional music with an elegant hint of jazz. Their songs are celebrations of modern life in all its wonderful, strange and hilarious beauty.
Jenny is an award-winning poet, singer, songwriter, and visual artist with a mission to find the extraordinary in the everyday. She evokes comparisons to Joni Mitchell and Ricki Lee Jones. Robin mixes contemporary subjects with guitar stylings that harken back to the earliest forms of jazz, blues and country guitar. He is a 2024 Kerrville Song Contest winner.
Both have critically acclaimed solo albums as well as a live album together. Jenny’s music has underscored TV, film and theatre projects.

Opener: Scrappy Rats Band
The Scrappy Rat Picnic and Variety Orchestra (aka the Scrappy Rat Band) can most warm even the coldest curmudgeon's heart with their unique brand of punk rock-infused old-timey music which features a bombastic horn section, a scratchy washboard, and even scratchier vocals. The band got its start busking for spare change on the streets of Chicago and plays a plethora of toe-tapping originals as well as a wild diversity of cover tunes ranging from Celine Dion to Ween. This group is perfect for picnics, weddings, and houses of ill repute and is sure to bring a smile to all that crosses its path.

The Chicago Jazz Dads were working musicians long before they were fathers, gigging until family life pulled them off the stage. With resumes that include appearances at the Montreux Jazz Festival, French conservatory training, and sessions for Tom Waits, the vocalist-led quintet has spent the past three years building a steady presence in the Chicago area. Their sets pair a deep affection for the American songbook with reimagined modern hits, played for longtime jazz fans and first-timers alike.

Al Rose is a mesmerizing, challenging, insightful and ultimately delightful songwriter with a unique command of wordplay combined with considerable musical acumen. His 8 albums have received a bevy of critical praise along with extensive airplay on AAA and Americana stations throughout the US and Europe. The Chicago-based performer has played coast-to-coast as well as Europe and Japan. A consummate and prolific live performer, Rose always puts on a wild yet cool spontaneous show—whether he’s solo, with a full band or some configuration in between. Think of the way a surprisingly loud crackly fire manages to give off a warm, steady glow and the picture comes clear.
As a craftsman, Al’s honed his songwriting to a fine edge. He’s got a real gift for melody, and each line cuts just the way he wants—whether to make you laugh or make you cry. He’s backed up the words with catchy, addictive tunes. It’s a kind of protest music. He’s sounding the alarm against complacency. Veteran Chicago guitar slinger Steve Doyle has an illustrious career playing guitar with roots luminaries Al Rose and the Transcendos, The Hoyle Brothers, Lush Budgett and Space Rhino. He is an in-demand sideman for a variety of Blues, Country, Bluegrass, and singer/songwriter acts as well as a long time teaching artist at the Old Town School.
Together, Al Rose and Steve Doyle have been reading each other’s musical minds for nearly 25 years. They have delighted concert and club audiences in Chicago, New York and Paris. Don’t miss this special evening as they sing songs of hope, patience, irony and rage.

TRJM continues to expand its sound, adding innovative percussionist Jonathan Singer to the mix in 2026.

Opener: Petra Van Nuis & Dennis Luxion
Chicago based duo, vocalist Petra van Nuis and pianist Dennis Luxion have been noted for their “seamless camaraderie” (Chicago Jazz Magazine) with a style that is “hauntingly atmospheric and filled with creative substance” (All About Jazz) taking listeners to “a place where the agony, comfort, and hope of life meet” (Japan's Jazz Critique Magazine). “A veteran Chicago pianist of impeccable taste and considerable harmonic imagination” (Chicago Tribune), Dennis is best known for being Chet Baker's pianist in the 1980s in Europe where they toured extensively and made six recordings together. Praised for possessing “a light, gorgeous, and fairly delicate voice…a gift for melody and plenty of rhythmic confidence” (Downbeat Magazine), Petra is known around Chicago for her celebrated Recession Seven band and her intimate duo with husband, guitarist Andy Brown.
In 2018, Petra and Dennis documented their synergistic collaboration with the recording "Because We're Night People," a collection of evening related songs. In addition to the US release, it was re-released in Japan and was chosen by All Nippon Airways (Japan's largest airline) as in-flight entertainment. Nationally, the album was given 4 stars and included in the Best Of 2019 issue of DownBeat Magazine, the nation's leading jazz periodical. Famed jazz writer Doug Ramsey praised the recording as “a highlight among vocal albums...distinctive...delicious...just the right blend of sadness and wit...a long stay on most listeners’ shelves.”
In 2024, the duo's latest recording "From Me To You" was born of their four year residency at Chicago’s eclectic Le Piano jazz club where they played the "Afterglow" late night set every Saturday. The album features a wide variety of repertoire including two tunes by beloved Chicago master musicians who have recently passed on, Marc Pompe and Bob Dogan. "From Me To You" was included in esteemed jazz critic Scott Yanow’s Best of 2024 list!

PIANIST JO ANN DAUGHERTY loves making all kinds of music and has traveled the country and globe, playing at the Chicago Jazz Festival, Satchmo Fest New Orleans, Jazz at Lincoln Center Shanghai, Havana Jazz Festival in Cuba, and more. Some of her favorite recent appearances include: leading her own band on the Pritzker stage at the 2026 Chicago Jazz Festival, conducting the ICEBOY! comedy musical @ the Goodman for select performances, NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert with SIX, a role as featured onstage pianist with the Washington National Opera in the New Orleans tinged Songbird at the Kennedy Center, the AfroBop Alliance Big Band’s Pan American Nutcracker tour, and regularly sold-out shows at Winter’s Jazz Club in Chicago. OPENER: Tyranny of Dave
Tyranny of Dave has been around since 1776, obviously denying this whole "United States" thing and generally assuming he runs things. He puts out albums very occasionally and has played with both antique-garde outfit Piñataland and currently with Estate Sale, who, when not playing music, can get you a good deal on an antique embroidered chair. In 2026 he tyrannized himself to take part in a podcast in which he was forced to write a song every month. HEADLINER: Chris Darby
Chris Darby’s musical development began in Missouri, and gradually took form in Kentucky, Illinois, Oregon, Wisconsin, and everywhere in between. Chris is a folk musician whose true home is anywhere his music takes him. Though his singing sometimes reaches the ferocious roar of a territorial lion and other times sinks to the gentle whisper of a wise sage, his vocal style embodies a rare emotional honesty which captures the full range and depth of his life experience. Likewise, his dynamic guitar playing gracefully shifts between hypnotic arpeggios and the building crescendo of an oncoming train.

Headliner: Sue Fink
Chicago singer/songwriter Sue Fink has been entertaining audiences since 2001 with her unique perspective on the world. Now she’s releasing her fourth full-length album, Leaves of Summertime. Sue finds the world of nature to be inspirational, calming, and necessary to sanity. Her frequent nature walks inspired not only these eleven songs, but also her photos. As a companion piece to her CD, Sue is also releasing a book with both her lyrics and accompanying nature photos.
For this show, Sue’s band is comprised of three of the superb musicians who worked on this recording: John Abbey (bass/guitar), who also recorded and produced this album; Brian Wilkie (pedal steel guitar); and Meg Thomas (drums/percussion). John Abbey also recorded and produced this album. These three musicians are known throughout Chicagoland and more, for their expertise and musical intuition; you’ll find them playing with many bands, in many genres. All have worked with Sue before, and she is thrilled to have them join her for her CD release show! (possibly some special music guests as well!)

AN EVENING WITH NORA O’CONNOR
Nora O’Connor has been an in-demand backup singer/multi-instrumentalist for decades, performing around the world with Neko Case, The New Pornographers, The Decemberists, Iron and Wine, Andrew Bird, Robbie Fulks, Mavis Staples, and Chicago supergroup The Flat Five. Nora has released three solo albums and is currently working on her next batch of songs for a new record!
When not on the road playing bass with NRBQ, Casey McDonough can be found in Chicago with bands such as The Flat Five, The Western Elstons, Phil Angotti, Rami and the Reliables, the Possum Hollow Boys, and Little Calumet & the Tributaries.

Opener: Samuel Aaron
Samuel Aaron has no interest in appearing nonchalant. The Chicago-based, Portland-born artist has a refreshingly earnest approach to making music, weaving together confessional lyricism, playful arranging, and soulful vocal performances. While Aaron’s songwriting is rooted in the folk lineage, his affinity for eclectic soundscapes and his taste for a wide array of genres–including art-pop, R&B, and indie rock–reverberate through his music. In the vein of artists like Big Thief, Bon Iver, and Andy Shauf, Aaron’s brand of alternative folk is brimming with substance but never in lieu of style. His versatility as a vocalist, lyricist, producer, and instrumentalist manifests in his music’s innate sense of world-building; ringing clearly on Aaron’s debut album, Rambler (2025), and the subsequent Live at Thalia Hall (2026), which find him and his band rollicking through boisterous rock songs, theatrical chamber-pop orchestrations, and stripped-down guitar ballads. He has toured and performed across North America on bills and festivals with Racing Mount Pleasant, Hudson Freeman, Anjimile, Greg Freeman, Lily Seabird, MJ Lenderman, and more.

HEADLINER: Anna Vogelzang
Award-winning singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Anna Vogelzang believes in the power of songs. Her latest release and eighth studio album, Afterglow, is no exception. Recorded in Nashville and co-produced with Anthony da Costa (Lydia Luce, David Wax Museum), the indie folk collection dives into new sonic territory for Vogelzang, exploring who we become in the aftermath of life’s cosmic shifts.
The resulting eleven tracks navigate distinct transformative moments that tear down our sense
of self and place and propel us to begin again. “Creating this album has been a long labor of love that has wrestled with having young kids, recovering from vocal injury, & re-examining my own relationship with the music industry. Looking back at my own timeline after a very intense five years, I felt like a different person on the other side. These songs emerged as the
touchpoints for each of those big life altering moments; releasing Afterglow independently feels like the reclaiming of my power from this new vantage point.” Vogelzang's musical journey began in earnest in 2004, and she has since released several albums, including Driftless (2014), Hiker (2016), and Beacon (2019). The latter album was co-produced with Tyler Chester and features collaborators Chester, Jay Bellerose, and Adam Levy. The recording process for Beacon paralleled Vogelzang's personal experiences, as she was pregnant during its creation, adding a layer of depth to the album's themes of transition and light. Atwood Magazine praised the album and its songwriting as “beautifully visceral…the kind of storytelling ability passed down through decades of folk tradition”, while Magnet Magazine said Vogelzang’s voice “nets melodies like it’s catching monarchs.”
Vogelzang is much revered in the national DIY scene. Deeply committed to community and education, in 2012 she founded Wintersong, an annual charity concert in Madison, Wisconsin, which raised over $34,000 for the Second Harvest Foodbank of Southwest Wisconsin in its first 8 years. Vogelzang has also led & taught at Girls Rock Camps across the country, empowering gender expansive youth through music. During her tenure as an LA resident, she co-founded the NELA Song Salon with Adam Levy, a songwriting group that evolved into a residency at the Bootleg Theater. This structure took on a life of its own when she hit Chicago and she began Song Club - a quarterly songwriter night amplifying the voices of BIPOC, womxn, & queer musicians of the Chicago scene. She has served on the songwriting faculty at the Los Angeles College of Music, Northpark University, and is currently a songwriting workshop facilitator at the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago. A celebrated songwriter, Vogelzang’s collaborators include Sara Watkins, Todd Sickafoose, Madison Cunningham, Tyler Chester, Aoife O’Donovan, Courtney Hartman, and many more.
No stranger to transformation, Vogelzang's new album weaves through musical landscapes spanning folk, indie pop and Americana to celebrate the strength, resilience and enlightenment of self (and in this case, some damn good songs) that can come in the wake of all that life throws at you, for better or for worse. Afterglow is out now.
Description of Beacon (2019)::
The feeling of embodying a transient physical state while living in new surroundings was the origin of Anna Vogelzang’s latest album, Beacon, a project made with Grammy-nominated producer Tyler Chester. The group of songs was born from both places of unknowing, and ultimately proved itself inspired by the West Coast ether. Beacon is Vogelzang’s seventh studio album and celebrates the momentum of surrendering to the unknown, a feeling she knows intimately from her time in L.A . Her music transcends place by acknowledging the true illuminating source of soul and sound: people and self.

OPENER: Sara Jean Stevens
No matter how much time passes, it always seems to catch up with you. For Sara Jean Stevens, those fleeting moments became a rich source of inspiration for her sophomore EP, Lovesick. Out February 14, the four layered tracks bring hints of country, folk, roadhouse and singer-songwriter poetry, and continue exploring her unique voice in Americana. On the pensive title track, padded with delicate lap steel and earnest vocals, Stevens pleads over and over, I look for you in cold strange places. It’s a search that has eclipsed her for years. “I wrote the song 20 years ago, and have never even played it live. It’s like it had to marinate deep in my cells for two decades before it was ready to see the world,” she says.
To be fair, in those two decades, Stevens has been busy. The Chicago-based artist – who grew up on a horse farm in the flatlands of Illinois and began taking classical voice and piano lessons as a child before picking up the guitar at 18 – had a lucrative career touring the world as part of top-line ensembles before choosing to find her own place in music. Her solo material has been hailed as a mix of Emmylou Harris and Mazzy Star and described as music for the loners, the hopeless romantics and the dreamers. In the past couple of years, her sound has caught the attention of acclaimed roots, rock, country and folk artists like John Hiatt, Rhett Miller (Old 97s), The Wood Brothers, Nora O’Connor and Whitehorse who have called on Stevens to open

HEADLINER: Mar Caribe
Mar Caribe is an all-instrumental band from Chicago that performs originals that blend spaghetti-western, surf, and country as well as a wide range of covers. Begun as a duo in 2006 by two friends who loved the Ventures, Dick Dale, and Leo Kottke, the group has since grown to a seven-piece lineup featuring three horns, banjo, and pedal steel. Tom McGettrick (banjo, pedal steel) leads the group.
